Job Description

RITZ Machine Works is a supply chain partner supplying fabricated metal components and assemblies to Original Equipment Manufacturers. We employ over 70 personnel at facilities in Dauphin, MB and Cambridge, MN. We pride ourselves in our customer focus, team approach and innovative solutions.We invite applications for the following position: Shop Foreman (Dauphin, MB)We are currently seeking a Shop Foreman to join our team in Dauphin. This position offers 40 hours per week with hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Thursday.Job Summary:The Shop Foreman is responsible for the daily management of production resources to satisfy customer requirements.Work as part of a team to fulfill the following responsibilities:

  • Allocate shop floor personnel to workstations in collaboration with Production Planner and Leadhands to maintain production schedule
  • Support shop floor personnel with materials, tools and assistance required to facilitate production in coordination with Leadhands, Quality, and Engineering
  • Maintain a healthy and capable workforce by working closely with Human Resources and Director of Operations to facilitate vacation planning, employee feedback, performance reviews, hiring, and termination
  • Maintain a safe and clean shop floor work environment
  • Encourage and facilitate continuous improvement by working with shop floor personnel to determine root cause and contribute to corrective action
  • Facilitate employee development through training in coordination with Leadhands and Production Planner
  • Minimize machine downtime by identifying maintenance issues and ensuring machines are available for preventive maintenance
  • Actively participate in daily Production Meetings, weekly Management Meetings, and quarterly Management Review Meetings
  • Expedite specific orders through production, when required
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience working in supervisory or management roles
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Physically able to work long periods of time without sitting
  • Willingness to learn MS Office and ERP software
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
