Join our team!Pacific Coastal Airlines is seeking a permanent part-time on call Customer Service/Ramp Agent based in Dawson Creek, BC to support our Capacity Purchase Agreement with WestJet, operating as WestJet Link in the region. Under the Pacific Coastal banner we fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations, and beautiful communities in the province of British Columbia.Customer Service/Ramp Agents are part of a team that works in conjunction with crew members. They are responsible for providing outstanding service to our customers and must embody the Pacific Coastal Airlines motto of "People Friendly, People First". The successful individual will be expected to role model behaviors that respect the corporate values, professionalism, diversity and service excellence to our internal and external customers.Job Responsibilities:Provide information in-person and over the phone on flight schedules, routes, cargo rates and statusPrepare and issue tickets and boarding passes, compute fares, issue refunds, check baggage and collect excess baggage charges in accordance with tariff rulesAssist passengers with boarding and disembarking the aircraft, including those requiring assistanceAnnounce flight arrivals, departures, and boarding informationResolve service disruption issues such as cancelled or missed flights, determining alternative flight options, changes or rebooking reservationsInvestigate and handle customer complaints when problems ariseLift and move baggageDeal with time sensitive shipments, notify customers of the freight arrivalTrace lost or misdirected cargo and associated recordsWeigh cargo items, compute and calculate charges for services in accordance with tariff rulesProcess and collect payments, prepare and issue airway bills and shipping documentation, enter shipping information into a computerMaintain and update records on a regular basisLift and move cargo, ensure that is has being directed properlyDecide whether to accept or reject cargo items, provide special handling of cargo as requiredMarshall aircraftUnload passenger luggage, cargo, containers/pallets, etc.Provide special handling of luggage/cargo as required/directedReport all equipment malfunctions to appropriate supervisor/managerDrive and/or operate ground support equipmentAssist customers and crew during boarding/offloading the aircraftDe-ice and anti-ace aircraftPossess an excellent understanding of company products and services and effectively promote them at all timesEnsure the safety, security of all customers and their possessions at all timesOther duties as assignedQualifications:Previous customer service experience is an assetCapable of lifting up to 70 poundsHigh level of computer proficiency and data entry skillsMust be able to obtain and maintain designated security clearanceValid class 5 drivers licenseSkills & Abilities:Strong written/oral communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work independently under minimal supervision and/or as part of a teamComplete tasks in an efficient and accurate mannerFlexible to work weekends, evenings, holidays and/or irregular shiftsAble to work outdoors during inclement weather conditionsWHY PACIFIC COASTAL AIRLINESCompany Culture: We honour our company motto of People Friendly, People First for both our employees and our passengers.
