Job Description

Reporting to the VP, Finance & Centralized Services, the IT & Database Analyst will provide exceptional day-to-day IT support and help interpret various data needs and requirements across all departments. This position will involve strategic coordination across multiple teams, managers, and stakeholders to develop various reports and extract across a variety of data sources. This position will maintain, document, and share knowledge around emerging trends impacting digital technologies and payments as it relates to the Credit Union landscape and the financial industry. This position requires someone that is engaged, intuitive, and can thrive in the changing environment of IT and data analytics.Key Responsibilities

  • Investigates data quality issues and makes recommendations for their resolution
  • Identifies and recommends changes to provide efficiencies in data collection, processing, mapping, analysis, and reporting
  • Contributes to enhancing the validity, reliability and accuracy of data and information utilized in support of business initiatives
  • Assists and supports senior management in researching and developing updates to data fields within identified key systems leveraged by multiple teams, managers, and key stakeholders
  • Develops plans to implement database research and analysis strategies
  • Develop reports, tables, and figure to efficiently and accurately present data collected
  • Reviews existing reports and extracts and assists in the production of high-quality technical reports relating to database systems
  • Assists and supports senior management in identifying, developing, and delivering reports and/or analysis both on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis, with 100% accuracy
  • Develops quality assurance that must be fully documented and audited before delivery including but not limited to: applicable data sets, calculation methods, etc.
  • Provides regular updates to senior management around emerging trends, mandates, and opportunities around payments and digital technologies impacting the financial industry
  • General day-to-day support including but not limited to:
    • IT Support
      • Hardware deployment and troubleshooting (i.e. desktops, laptops, printers, etc.)
      • Software and application deployment and troubleshooting
      • Onsite troubleshooting and staff support for outsourced network management vendor
    • Premise Support
      • Control systems supports (i.e. HVAC system, automated devices, etc.)
      • Assists manager in ongoing contract management and troubleshoot per SLA agreements
    • Systems maintenance such as update, upgrades and testing for a variety of applications such as:
      • Banking system (Fiserv DNA)
      • Accounting system (Fiserv FAS)
      • Website
      • Online Account & Lending origination (ASAPP)
      • Online & Mobile banking
    • Provides access and ongoing maintenance to various accounts and systems as per user-level requirements
    • Provides system and application support through various ticketing systems which includes ticket creation, ticket monitoring, troubleshooting based on ticket information, working with staff that raised needs for tickets, and the cataloging of ticket resolution to support future troubleshooting
    • Perform other duties as assigned to support LVCU
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITIES
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of LVCU policies and procedures, financial products and services, industry best practices and the legal and regulatory environment within which the Credit Union operates (including knowledge of relevant legislation such as PCMLTFA, PIPA, FATCA, etc.)
  • Communicates clearly and effectively, both verbal and written

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Post-secondary degree is a must
  • Minimum 1 year working experience with data analytics and IT support
  • Post-secondary education with a Bachelor preferably in Computer Science and/or Information Technology
  • Experience in the Credit Union or Financial industry would be an asset
  • Strong understanding of software applications
  • Knowledge of data analytics, reporting tool, and methodologies such as MS Excel, Oracle, SQL, etc.
  • Critical thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail related to accuracy and visual experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Determined hard worker with a positive attitude and is self-motivated.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES OF THE ROLE
  • Plays a key roles in ensuring the LVCU remains current on all digital and technological opportunities and availabilities in the financial industry, including but not limited to: Payments Modernization, Open Banking, payment trends and mandates, etc.
  • Provide high quality services, processes, and products while consistently seeking ways to improve outcomes and enhance service
  • Accurate and timely delivery of requested support and tasks
  • Positive internal and external service levels are achieved through the proactively and resourcefulness
  • Prioritizing and making on-the-spot decisions regarding member transactions, weighing member satisfaction issues with company exposure to loss or fraud
  • Supports multiple teams, managers, and key stakeholders to achieve strategic and mandatory requirements
  • A positive and professional work environment is maintained
