Job Description

Classification: Community Support WorkerProgram: Teaching Home SupportLocation: Dawson Creek, Chetwynd, Tumbler RidgeQualifications: Diploma in a related human/social service field. One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English. Computer literacy.Duties: Provide teaching and assistance for activities such as cooking, grooming, money management, shopping, and laundry to families referred by the Ministry of Children and Family Development. Does cleaning, including extensive cleaning and disposal, major clean-up of the home interior including moving furniture and oven cleaning. Assists families to function more independently in their own homes through the teaching of daily life skills. Participates in the development of service plans, provides progress notes and other required documentation. Liaises with other community agencies as needed.Other Job Information: Work may not always be done within normal working hours, depending on the client’s needs. Evening and weekend work may be required. Provides transportation for clients when required.Hours of Work: 17.5 hours per week.Vehicle Use: You must have a Class 5 BC Driver’s License, and a reliable vehicle. Annual vehicle inspections are required.Hourly Rate: $21.63 – 25.19 depending on experience.
