Job Description

Job purpose: The person in the position of the shipping and receiving agent will allow the company to receive in shipments from our suppliers and ship out product to our customers as well as pulling orders for customer pick upDuties and responsibilities: Shipping

• Retrieve customer orders from the order folder
• Gather the parts that are needed to fulfill the order from the stock bins
• Place parts securely in a box and add packing material to ensure the safety of the parts
• Create a shipping waybill by inputting recipient’s ship to information and parcel dimensions into the waybill creator on the computer
• Secure the waybill to the parcel using packing tape

Receiving

• Sign for the packages that are delivered by the courier ensuring that the boxes are not damaged
• Open the packages and retrieve the packing slip from the box
• Compare the parts that are in the box to the packing slip and our purchase
• Put the parts into their correct stock bin
• Report any discrepancies to the purchasing agent

Contacting Customers

• Calling and emailing customers with updates on their orders
• Answering questions that customers have about shipping

Qualifications:

• Computer knowledge is an asset
• Experience working in a warehouse is an asset
