About the OpportunityEriez is seeking a Global Director - Process Engineering to oversee global flotation process engineering work and training initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong skills in supervision, mentorship and coaching, process engineering, testwork management, and commissioning/operational support experience in froth flotation and mineral processing operations. Directing a high-performing global team, you will be directly responsible for organizing and delivering both process engineering design support and services to our North American and international mining clients. This position interacts with the flotation team globally with the option to be based in Canada or USA.Reporting to: Vice President, FlotationRequirementsLeadership:

  • Functional supervision and guidance of process engineering teams or regional Process Engineering Managers where they exist, throughout the world (Canada, USA, Brazil, Peru, Chile, Australia, South Africa, China) to ensure the achievement of quality, productivity and timely completions of tasks
  • Provide mentoring, leadership and professional development to the global flotation process teams.
  • Develop, implement and standardize global process engineering workflow processes and procedures to ensure effective and timely response to other departments, customers and external parties
  • Develop and implement a global training program for process engineers in coordination with other key stakeholders
  • Checking and reviewing work performed by members of the process team
  • Pro-active contribution to business development activities including client meetings, technical presentations at professional conferences and/or events, representative training
Technical and Operational Support:
  • Coordinate with Global Flotation Capital Sales, Services, Engineering and Product Management Groups as well as regional Eriez offices to support process related aspects of mineral processing flowsheet development, equipment sales, project delivery and overall business excellence
  • Oversee the development, management, and interpretation of the laboratory/piloting Metallurgical Testwork Programs.Develop projects for testwork at Eriez USA flotation laboratory, external commercial laboratories, and customer sites, as necessary.
  • Reviewing testwork reports, sales proposal technical content, business cases and technical whitepapers
  • Reviewing calculations related to equipment sizing and process design in support of flowsheet development and commercial bid packages
  • Provide Commissioning, Operation and Optimization guidance for Eriez participation at clients’ site
  • Resolving technical and process design challenges related to new delivery projects/Perform troubleshooting using root cause analysis principals to address process issues for equipment in operation
  • Collaborating on projects with local and global team members, external parties and our clients directly
  • Liaising with key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
  • Providing regular project updates including work progress, risks, and priorities
  • Coordinate and work with instrument specialists for instrument/valves/pump selection and datasheet development
  • Review of equipment datasheets, control philosophy or any other technical documentation as needed
About You
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
  • Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Engineering highly desirable
  • 25+ years relevant experience in mineral processing or chemical engineering
  • Subject matter expertise (SME) in froth flotation process and flow sheet development and analysis
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE/P.Eng) highly desirable
  • Supervisory experience including the development and mentorship of process engineers from entry-level to senior level.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing role with proven proficiency in delivering OEM and/or EPC projects on time and within budgets
  • Must be comfortable leading internal / external meetings and presenting to an audience
  • Communication and leadership skills combined with the ability to provide advanced technical solutions and problem-solve are essential to the role
  • Detail orientated, organized with strong planning and coordination skills
  • Able to respond quickly to change and adapt to new requirements
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to effectively multitask, prioritize activities and deliver work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to travel internationally to perform site visits and support business meetings
