If you are positive, flexible and ready to learn new things, then come join a team of like-minded people.About Our OpportunityThe Maintenance Worker position fits well with someone who would enjoy working outdoors and in historic buildings.The Maintenance Worker assists with the operation and maintenance of tools and equipment for milling and maintaining the buildings, grounds, and trails. Engaging with visitors and assisting your co-workers with events, programs and exhibits would also be part of your role.This position reports to the Site Supervisor, Balmoral Grist Mill and Sutherland Steam Mill.Qualifications and ExperienceTo be successful in this role you have completed grade 10 and a minimum of 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Knowledge and experience in general carpentry, painting, building and grounds maintenance, minor electrical repairs and related equipment is required.You have a genuine interest in learning about the machinery and operations of these historic mill sites. You are self - directed, able to take initiative and work independently and in team environments valuing and respecting diversity of others. Must comply with site policies, procedures and safe work practices including the use of assigned personal protective equipment (PPE).You also have:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Internet, Outlook, Word, Excel)
