If your employer has been in outbreak, you must disclose this during your interview.For more information, check out this video about Working at BethanyAbout the RoleBethany Care Society (BCS) is looking for Pandemic Support Workers to provide operational support to the continued prevention against the spread of Covid 19. The Pandemic Support Worker will have the opportunity to use their exceptional customer services skills to interact with residents, employees, family support person(s) and visitors.As a Pandemic Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to assist healthcare providers with a wide-range of support including companionship and life-enrichment activities with residents, assisting with basic cleaning as determined by the site, as well as screening of guests entering the site to ensure the health and safety of our clients and staff.You are there to work with and provide assistance to existing care teams in following resident care plans to provide safe and competent care as directed by a healthcare professional.What You Will Do

• Act as a resident companion as directed
• Provide support on resident needs such as meal support for safe feeding, technology support and support to our Care and Therapy teams
• Porter residents to and from rooms, recreational activities, and dining room as required
• Clean tubs/showers, empty laundry baskets and garbage as required
• Loads and unloads supplies into appropriate storage rooms
• Maintains consistent clean environment which includes washing, cleaning/disinfecting surfaces
• Adheres to food service safety practices for food handling and hand washing procedures
• Screen staff and visitors as per outbreak/pandemic procedure
• Report unsafe conditions to RN, RPNs, LPN, or manager
• Work with team members to ensure all daily tasks are completed on schedule
• Demonstrate dependability by reporting to work on time and as scheduled
• All other duties as required

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 or Equivalent
• Excellent Communication Skills
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting is considered an asset
• You will demonstrate strong communication, professionalism and customer service skills; be self-directed; demonstrate time management, confliction resolution, and decision-making skills and foster collaboration with members of the interdisciplinary team.
