Job Description

COOK Universal Properties Limited, is seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a Cook to be based at 100 Midland Drive, Dieppe, NB. Proudly headquartered in New Brunswick, J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) has operations in Canada and the United States. Universal Properties, a division of J.D. Irving, Limited , is seeking a full-time Cook to work weekdays at their on-site cafeteria. The ideal candidate will be a professional, motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide high quality food and ensure consistency in the preparation and presentation Take, cook and serve short orders quickly and efficiently Follow and cook recipes from scratch Deliver internal and external catering orders Assist with replenishment of kitchen supplies Work independently and as part of a team Clean equipment, surfaces and kitchen areas to standard practice expectations Adhere to Food Safety and WHMIS standards Assist the chef as requested Qualifications: 3 years in the food service industry High school diploma required; post-secondary education in the culinary field would be considered an asset Excellent communication and organizational skills Flexibility regarding hours, duties and procedures Ability to perform physically demanding tasks Ability to work Monday-Friday day shift, and occasional evenings that could include special events Ability to adapt to a fast paced, dynamic working environment with multiple tasks and priorities A strong team player with a keen understanding of the importance of professionalism in a service-based position Strong attention to detail Excellent customer service skills with a pleasant and professional demeanor; helpful and flexible Ability to read, write and speak English at an advanced level Possess a valid driver #39;s license and own transportation Food Safety Certification an asset To Apply for this Career Opportunity: Please apply online with an up-to-date resume of past experience and education is required.
