Position VacancyService Area: Enrichment / Eden ManagerType: Part Time Term Position (12 months) - 3 days per week (60% FTE)Area of Practice:Reporting to the Neighbourhood Manager/Volunteer Lead, the incumbent will work with a dynamic team, maximizing the abilities and well-being of residents living in a 90 bed Eden Alternative Registered home (long term care facility). As a member of the senior leadership team, the Enrichment/Eden Manager participates in activities related to the operation of the organization including strategic planning, policy and procedure development, acquisition, utilization and monitoring of both fiscal and personnel resources as these pertain to the Eden Path of Mastery and Recreation Services. The primary responsibilities of this position are the operation, delivery and management of the recreation therapy programs and leisure services, ensuring its provision meets the Mission, Vision and Values of Tideview Terrace and is in compliance with all governing regulations and standards for Long Term Care and to be the Leader and "Subject Matter Expert" resource to the leadership team and TVT for following areas:

• Plays a lead role in the education and promotion of the Eden Alternative Principles and philosophy to employees, residents, families and all external stakeholders.
• Leads the evolution of Tideview Terrace in the Eden Path to Mastery including achieving milestones, implementation of Neighbourhood Guide concept, etc.
• Serves as the "Eden" resource to other members of the management team

Qualifications:

• Training in a health care field / profession, with preference given to Recreation Therapist (CTRS) or university degree.
• Prior training as a Certified Eden Associate, Vivage Neighborhood Guide, Person Centered Leadership Model, Art of Hosting, LEAN in LTC, PATH, and InterRAI considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to use person directed care to increase residents wellbeing.
• Post professional training in leadership / management.
• Knowledge and experience in a LTC environment or health care environment preferred.
• Service orientated with ability to build relationships and create win/win situations.
• Excellent listening, negotiation, team building and problem-solving skills.
• A "big picture" thinker and change agent with a propensity for continuous learning.
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Proven ability to make timely, effective decisions in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Proven organization and administrative skills in relation to the management of a therapeutic recreation service an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to use sound professional judgment and initiative.
• Strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills including the ability to develop and maintain good relations with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to maintain regular work attendance.
• Must be adaptable and flexible to adjust to the changing needs of residents and the facility.
• Able to legally work in the Province of Nova Scotia.
