Job Description

Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is seeking an Events Manager The successful candidate will have a solid event planning & execution background, have proven writing skills, experience with effective social media engages and be comfortable working in a dynamic, hospitality environment.Reporting to the General Manager, primary responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the department heads to develop and lead execution of a 12-month calendar of on-site events to attract visitation, extend guest length of stay and spend onsite and to increase guest satisfaction.
To complete this task the manager:
  • Creates partnerships with internal department, suppliers and specialists as need be
  • Reports progress and monitors impact of events
  • Recommends marketing approaches to support events/experiences
  • Creates and manages databases to increase sales efforts
  • In line with a social media marketing plan, writes and posts social media content complementary to that generated by an agency of record
  • As needed, represent the Resort in the community and province

  • Degree from an accredited college/university in event planning, hotel and restaurant management; 2 years experience required.
OR
  • High school diploma and 5 years experience in event management
  • Proven creative writing and communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge of social media development
  • Knowledge of digital publishing
  • Time flexibility, days, evenings, weekends given nature of Resort Operations.
