Job Description

We are working with Immigration Refugees Citizenship Canada and Calian is looking to build a team of support workers to complete basic tasks for asylum seekers who are currently living in temporary hotels while waiting for long term accommodations to be secured.This is a unique and exciting opportunity for anyone who is looking for a supportive role which can help make a difference in the lives of those who have come to Canada seeking asylum.Possible start date - 10th April 2023Responsibilities:

  • Organize transfer to external services, if required (hospital, urgent care, walk-in)
  • Complete and safely store documentation required for each claimant
  • Meal and snack delivery to claimant(s)
  • Running errands for supplies needed
  • Communication with hotel for meals, taxi service, housekeeping, laundry, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned or required
Mandatory Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Eligible for Enhanced Reliability security clearance
Type of Assignment:
  • Casual contract (12-hour shifts 7AM - 7PM and 7PM - 7AM)
  • All shifts are for 12 hours; you have the ability to work part-time or up to full-time hours
Job Types: Full-time, CasualSalary: $20.00-$25.00 per hourBenefits:

  • French not required
Schedule:
  • 12 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
  • Digby, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
  • supportive care or customer service: 1 year (preferred)
