Job Description

Department of Natural Resources and Energy DevelopmentAdministrative Services - Level 3OpenDoaktown, New BrunswickThe Department of Natural Resources and Energy Development is seeking an individual to join the regional operations as an Administrative Assistant in the East Region, in Doaktown.As a member of the district administrative team and reporting to the District Forest Ranger, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall administrative support to the district office. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the following: selling permits; reconciliation of daily sales and vendor sales by outside agencies; providing assistance with monitoring of budget activity; providing administrative support to district resource staff, including typing, filing, composing routine correspondence, formatting and proofreading a variety of documents; providing reception services to the department and public, including answering the telephone, dealing with general inquiries, receiving fire call information and fish and wildlife management information; and performing other related duties as required.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by a one-year related post-secondary diploma and a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, including a minimum of one (1) year of experience providing client service in an office environment; OR a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience, including a minimum of one (1) year of experience providing client service in an office environment. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.Written and spoken competence in English is required.
