Job Description

Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.Cabin Inventory Manager - Major Projects is responsible for the inventory of a high volume of projects for new aircraft arrivals and the adherence of contractual terms from a purchasing perspective. The incumbent is also responsible for forecasting, planning, provisioning and controlling material required for BFE and PSM (Buyer Furnish Equipment and Pre-Service Modification) to the aircraft as well as analyzing, reviewing and reporting financial and operational aspects of the projects.Key functions & Accountabilities

  • Responsible for forecasting, material planning, provisioning and inventory control of BFE and PSM, mainly for Aircraft introductions, according to plan and assist as needed to make the new operators successful.
  • Participate in introduction project meetings by providing expertise, knowledge and meaningful input on purchase and shipping activities.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, accuracy and contents of the inventory purchased for specific projects that is housed at the manufactures facility to ensure accuracy.
  • Supervise and provide direction to the Cabin Inventory Project Manager.
  • Accountable for tracking agreed upon dates and follow-ups to ensure BFE modifications are completed on time to avoid major delays on project deadlines.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all purchase orders do not deviate from those agreed upon in the contract.
  • Reduce material costs through negotiating long-term pricing with vendors, ensuring adherence to the contract and inventory asset management; including identifying inventory surplus opportunities.
  • Ensure purchases are aligned with funding requirements (AFC) and the contract and hold vendors accountable for any fixed pricing that is not respected.
  • Provide expertise on purchasing procedures and highlight potential risks for new contracts.
  • Take over the Manager of Cabin Projects responsibilities when away.
  • Procure expendable, rotable, repairable and tools as per the project plan and allocated budget.
  • Keep Bill of Material (BOM) updated with progress of the orders.
  • Provide information on financial reporting of the contract as it pertains to purchasing.
  • Follow-up on open orders and escalate issues to the vendor as required, when the delivery of orders is not on time.
  • Establish the applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPI) necessary to invoke quarterly and annual Performance Management reviews with related groups.
  • Monitor the key performance measures; investigate the root cause of any material deficiencies or quality issues.
  • Plan shipments to the OEM/MRO in order to meet contractual arrangements.
  • Ensure material arrives on site and is processed in system.
  • Lead internal/external material audits and fix any gaps that are identified.
  • Ensure return of material once project is completed, as per disposition established lists.
  • Optimize performance relating to inventory activities by identifying and analyzing process gaps and initiating and/or participating in process improvements - internal/external to Air Canada.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of all discrepancies/disputes related to receiving, inspection and invoicing processes and investigate to fix the root cause.
  • Support overall project deliveries with Engineering and Commercial with recurrent meeting updates.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years experience in an airline inventory control position.
  • Contract management experience in as asset.
  • Experience with managing a resource or team is an asset.
  • Negotiation experience is an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, preferably involving data analysis.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications and TRAX.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with shifting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Solid interpersonal skills and a team player.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of airline documentation such as IPC, AMM, and SRM.
  • Knowledge of Cabin Interiors, an asset
