Job Description

That’s the number of people we reach globally.Novartis is reimagining medicine to improve and extend people’s lives, and we are finding innovative ways to expand access to our latest treatments.Become a Leader in Communications and Engagement, raising the bar for the life sciences industry, and industry at large, when it comes to highly impactful and influential strategic communications and stakeholder engagement.Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead the country communications team. Establish, develop and coordinate integrated communication plans in-line with country and corporate strategic goals, and desired market position for key brands
  • Shape the external environment for business success by developing and implementing medium to long-term strategies to increase Novartis share of voice and leadership
  • Develop key strategic programs to support Novartis external communications objectives including leadership and reputation, increasing positive awareness of Novartis, its mission and its public service efforts
  • Integrate the Patient Perspective across the life cycle and develop innovative patient inclusive initiatives that can impact patients and caregivers.
  • Energize, motivate and engage associates towards our our goal in an innovative environment.
  • Lead and build the communications strategy and capabilities for designated parts of business, anticipate and manage risk to Novartis reputation; advise management of reputational risk associated with specific activity.
  • Counsel and coach senior management in all aspects of communications and develop communications messages around key programs and initiatives.
  • Oversee the management and development of the Canadian Communications and Engagement team and allocate communication resources and personnel to meet business objectives

  • University degree or Advanced degree in business, law, bioscience, or communications related field desired
  • Extensive experience (+15 years) in PR or Communications positions, including high-level involvement in media and shareholder relations
  • Experience in executive communications and reputation management
  • Ability to collaborate across boundaries
  • Proficiency in English (fluent in both written and spoken language), proficiency in French is a plus.
