Job Description

Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.The Manager, Commercial Data and BI Quality Assurance is responsible for the quality assurance of Commercial BI reports and dashboards and their underlying data. They will work closely with internal business partners, IT, andexternal partners to align and implement the delivery of high-quality BI solutions. They will also lead the implementation of standards and best practices related to development, testing and deployment processes.The successful candidate is a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who has proven experience in the design and implementation of effective QA testing strategies.Job Description

  • Responsible for the overall quality of Commercial BI reports and dashboards; including their accuracy, performance, and ease of use
  • Drive continuous improvements in QA and testing processes, and champion the adoption of industry best practices
  • Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and external development and testing partners, to raise testing maturity levels as well as the tracking of KPIs related to testing status, project progress and issue resolution
  • Provide business and technical inputs to the Commercial Data Governance team, as appropriate
  • Provide sign off on complete and accurate documentation of reports and dashboards, both from a technical and business standpoint, understanding customer expectations and needs
  • Lead the implementation of effective analysis of design, reviews of test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required, based on objectives and requirements
  • Responsible for providing sign off prior to deployment of BI solutions
  • Responsible for providing mentorship across the different partner areas to ensure common development of technical skills and capabilities
  • Lead the development of QA processes for validation and approval of user created reports and dashboards
  • Establish processes for analysis of customer defects/feedback and implementation of preventive actions, as required
  • Ensure test plans, test cases, test metrics, and defect metrics are compliant with established guidelines
  • Define and maintain methods, techniques, and calculations for identifying ways to improve business/technical processes.
  • Train and motivate employees to ensure quality standards are met
  • Interface with external vendors as required in support of project or daily work
Qualifications
  • University degree/Technical certification and/or relevant experience
  • 8-10 years of experience in BI development and Quality Assurance in the data/BI space
  • Experience in designing and executing test plans
  • Experience with web development testing (ASP, HTML, CSS, jquery)
  • Moderate skills in SQL and experience with Teradata
  • Ability to respond resourcefully, proactively, and show nimbleness when faced with new challenges and to move forward positively and productively under conditions of change or uncertainty
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong statistical skills and ability to review large datasets
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Good client liaison skills - able to work collaboratively and in partnership to deliver high quality data solutions
  • Solid time management and organizational skills
  • Self-starter and ability to work under minimum supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure and to multi-task with a strong sense of priorities
