Job Description

The Operations Service and Delivery Manager is responsible for managing and executing the day-to-day ecommerce operations (people, process, equipment, and technology) to ensure SLAs, KPIs, safety and security standards are met on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. Support the daily shift operations and foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and a customer-oriented mindset.Key Functions:Safety

  • Responsible for the supervision of eCommerce activities, ensuring the safety and security of operations.
  • Supporting the stations and branch with generating reactive and proactive safety reporting.
  • Accountable for conducting investigations on all safety related incidents or accidents.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of operations at the respective station. Work as per SMS and other applicable authorities including a close partnership with airport safety.
  • Ensure Safety, Security and Service standards are observed, monitored, and practiced consistently including the application of the Emergency Response and Environmental Plans, and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for the management of SMS, and for the implementation and monitoring of corrective actions addressing hazards and safety concerns for the area under their supervisions.
  • Conduct self-audits on regular basis. Where audit activities have revealed vulnerability, ensure proper identification of root cause and implementation of corrective measures to address root cause as well as means to verify effectiveness. Authority to make decisions regarding risk tolerability with respect to the safety and/or security of cargo operations.
  • Compliance with standards of IOSA, SMS and other applicable regulatory authorities. Assure the good management of the cargo operation.
Responsibilities, Activities, Authority levels
  • Manage daily ecommerce sortation and delivery activities in compliance with companys policies and vision.
  • Ensures timely and accurate distribution of inbound and/or outgoing shipments daily, in accordance with established standards, timelines and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with Regulatory bodies and regulations related to Air Transportation of goods and loading and dispatching Aircrafts.
  • Ensures Load planning and security of all equipment and Aircraft used
  • Ensure facility/plant organization and housekeeping is maintained. Always keep the outside areas clean and unobstructed. Maintain 5S standards. Follow up on any deficiencies.
  • Manage the daily activities and ensure safety for a group of unionized employees, including selection and hiring, task assignments, performance evaluations, supervision, training and professional development, attendance, and corrective action for 20 to 40 employees.
  • Manage operations including staff deployment, analysis and planning of sort productivity at loading and unloading of trucks, package sorting, Non-Conveyable air shipments as well as daily management of employees on the floor.
  • Ensure the implementation of the Quality Assurance system and tools, review daily metrics, and contribute to the continuous improvement of service.
  • Manage labour relations and, the implementation of the collective agreements in effect, including settling of grievances, work schedules, incident reporting, health and safety.
  • Communicate to team members on information from the company including policies, practices, regulations, procedures, and programs.
  • Produce and submit daily reports on the operational activities and follow up on the daily variances of the shift. Ensure that we are always improving and provide feedback to the Operations Planning and Performance Managers for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Review and answer customer complaints and escalated items in a professional, expedient manner.
  • Create a positive work environment that fosters a culture of inclusion and recognition in a spirit of cooperative teamwork.
  • Other related duties or tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment;
  • College or University designation;
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership;
  • Experience managing operations with components of aviation/passenger airline regulations;
  • Working knowledge/interpretation of Canada Labour Code, Collective Agreements & Occupational Health & Safety Act;
  • Energetic Leader with strong motivation skills and a people first attitude;
  • Knowledge & compliance with Dangerous Goods;
  • Prior working experience with lean / process improvement initiatives;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Proven communication skills - written & oral;
  • Proficiency in MS Windows (i.e. Word, Excel, Power point, Access, etc.);
  • Experience in managing unionized employees;
  • Ability to work different shifts including overnight;
  • Present a professional and positive image and promote our brand.
