Job Description

Let your career take flight by joining our diverse and vibrant team at the leading edge of passenger aviation.The Reliability Analyst will extract and analyze aircraft reliability data to improve the reliability performance of the Air Canada and Rouge fleets. This position report and work in collaboration with the Manager, Reliability and ETOPs in all of the activities associated with establishing and managing the Reliability and ETOPS ProgramKey Functions & Accountabilities:The Reliability Analyst will work in collaboration with the Reliability & ETOPS Manager on the development and management of the Air Canada fleet Reliability Program from a maintenance perspective. This would also include the management of Air Canadas ETOPS Program. Routine roles and responsibilities of the Reliability Analyst will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Assist in the creation and development of a new Reliability Program intended to monitor the maintenance and reliability performance of the Air Canada and Rouge Fleet.
  • Collect and analyze monthly/quarterly reliability statistics for each fleet by ATA and system, in order to set the agenda and participate in the Fleet Reliability Working Group meetings
  • Monitor and analyze the Reliability Performance of the Air Canada and Rouge Fleet, including ETOPS parameters.
  • Following data analysis, provide summaries for the purposes of optimizing the maintenance program.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders (ie Fleet Managers, Powerplant, Systems, Structures, Avionics and Cabins Engineers, etc) to identify and highlight deteriorating areas and establish action items to address them.
  • Follow-up and review action item responses to confirm the intent of the action item was met and can be closed in a timely matter. These action items will be technical in nature and basic knowledge of aircraft systems will be required.
  • Prepare and distribute quarterly reports to stakeholders including Transport Canada and ACA senior management. This requires reviewing and understanding incident reports, defect rectifications and engineering reports to prepare the full summary.
  • Review the investigation findings of reliability deteriorations with the responsible engineer and provide timely updates to the Reliability manager.
  • Assist in the day to day activities of the ETOPS Reliability program.
  • Coordinate data collection from multiple departments and analyze to produce ETOPS reports and presentations.
  • Review investigation findings of ETOPS Significant events, including Engine In-flight Shutdown, and confirm they address the technical issue in question in collaboration with the responsible engineer and report findings.
Qualifications
  • A background or education in Statistics, Engineering or Aircraft Maintenance would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Transport Canada policy guidance on ETOPs program requirements.
  • A basic working understanding of aircraft systems such as propulsion, hydraulic, electrical, ECS, etc.
  • A basic understanding of aircraft maintenance and operations.
  • Knowledge of the ATA chapters
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong commitment to service excellence
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with changing priorities and fixed deadlines
  • Enthusiastic and a team player
  • Good knowledge of office software products
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet demanding deadlines
