As we continue to invest in the success of our students, Yorkville is seeking a Principalamp; Vice President, Academic, New Brunswick Campus to play an integral role in Yorkville’s vision of transforming lives by championing academic excellence and innovation in education.Reporting to the national Provostamp; Executive Vice President, the regional Principalamp; Vice-President, Academic, New Brunswick Campus is responsible for leading the academic operations for the campus/region. That responsibility includes day-to-day oversight of and responsibility for all campus operations including academic program development and management, student activities and services, and faculty development and support.The VPA’s direct reports include the Dean of the Faculty of Education (multiple master’s degrees and graduate certificates), Dean of the Faculty of Behavioural Sciences (including masters and doctoral programs in counselling and psychotherapy) and the and Associate Dean of the BBA-NB. The VPA/Principal works closely with the NB campus registrar and director of student services. The Principal/VPA Chairs the New Brunswick academic Senate and is a member of the University Academic Council and the Provost’s Academic Leadership Team. All programs anchored in New Brunswick are fully online, serving a primarily adult, domestic, student population from every province and territory in Canada.The Principal/VPA is the primary campus leader and representative in the community of Fredericton, the province of New Brunswick and the Maritime provinces, and is the primary link between Yorkville University and the Department of Post-secondary Education, Training, and Labour and the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission (MPHEC). As such, this is a full-time, in-person, position requiring residence in NB within a daily commute to the campus offices in Fredericton.The Principal/VPA is accountable for implementing strategies and metric-driven objectives; managing stakeholder partnerships in alignment with the university’s strategic goals; curriculum development and quality assurance; and continuous improvement of the student experience.   • Development and implementation of campus-level strategies to support student success and university strategic goals.
  • Lead and manage the faculty and staff (academic and operations) that report up to the Principal/VPA.
  • Provide leadership with respect to campus strategies and objectives for central University and corporate staff partners/representatives who serve the campus and its students.
  • Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure high-quality programs and operations at the campus/region, to support university strategic goals.
  • Support the development of high-performing academic faculty and staff, superior academic programs, student services, and innovative teaching and learning strategies that enhance students’ academic success and wellbeing.
  • Provide budget development and oversight for campus and program operational budgets. Support capital improvement projects on the campus in coordination with Facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues on student recruitment, student services and promotional initiatives for the campus/region.
  • Lead the review of existing programs, policies, procedures, and SLAs; implementing program renewal to boost student success.
  • Under direction of the Provost, act as the senior academic officer for the campus/region.
  • Model and promote a positive culture that supports equity, inclusion, learning, and wellness for all faculty, staff, and students.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with multiple cross-functional, internal, and external business partners.
  • Maintain visibility and collegial relationships with regulators and other postsecondary institutions in the region.
  • A minimum of 15 years of senior management experience in academia, teaching and/or managing faculty, including experience with academic program development and management, supervising faculty.
  • Earned doctorate from a recognized university.
  • Strong collaborative skills, academic business acumen, and the ability to work in a complex environment.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in in teaching and learning strategies, course and program development, communication strategies, and student services, including but not limited to current legislation and compliance requirements; determining strategies for short-term goals; sharing of best practices and innovative approaches to optimize operations; and fostering a team environment in support of university strategic goals.
  • Experience in people leadership, including approaches for team collaboration, fostering inclusive working environments, managing team objectives, coaching, performance management, and conflict management.
  • Experience working in highly dynamic settings with multiple transformation initiatives.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
