Job Description

Temporary assignments shall terminate as shown above or the return of a permanent employee, but no later than June 30, 2023.This full-time temporary position is with an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a wide range of assignments. The Board operates 2 administration buildings and 21 schools (18 elementary, 2 secondary and 1 K-8 Virtual School) in 13 communities covering 7851 square kilometers for the welfare of 4,580 pupils. For more information visit our web site at: http://www.rccdsb.edu.on.caJOB SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Educational Services, and board Speech Language Pathologists, the Communication Disorders Assistant will be required to provide support as part of the Speech and Language team. As part of a multi-disciplinary approach, the Speech and Language team supports schools and students using a tiered, educational model of service delivery.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Communication Disorders from an accredited training facility or equivalent;
  • Experience working with children who have speech and language challenges;
  • A self-motivated, critical thinking team player with superior inter-personal and organizational skills;
  • A composed, discreet and professional manner; demonstrates the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent command of verbal and written English;
  • A valid Ontario Driver’s License in good standing with the Ministry of Transportation, and access to a reliable mode of transportation for travel among the Board’s schools and offices;
  • Dedicated to continuing education and attending related Board-sponsored courses/seminars, etc.
