Job Description

Manager of Finance – Atira Women’s Resource Societydestinationone has partnered exclusively with Atira Women’s Resource Society to hire for this Manager of Financerole. Atira is an award-winning non-profit organization recognized for its inclusive hiring practices and commitment to social justice, equity, and empowering women.Position Details:

  • Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)
  • Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000 per annum (based on experience)
  • Location: Gastown, Vancouveramp; Remote
About the RoleThe Manager of Finance will play a key strategic role in supporting the Executive Director, Internal Systemsamp; Audit, by overseeing financial management for Atira’s property portfolio. This role is vital to ensuring long-term financial stability and growth through effective budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and compliance.The Manager of Finance will collaborate closely with property managers and senior leadership to optimize cash flow, capital expenditures, and investment strategies. Additional responsibilities include leading the finance team, streamlining financial processes, preparing reports for stakeholders, and fostering relationships with auditors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.Who You AreYou have a strong alignment with Atira’s mission, vision, and values, approaching your work through an intersectional feminist and decolonizing lens. You are passionate about financial management, thrive in fast-paced environments, and have the ability to think critically, lead teams, and make informed decisions.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for Atira’s property portfolio.
  • Optimize cash flow management and capital expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Advise on investment strategies and financial sustainability.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with auditors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial systems and processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in accounting and/or financial analysis (preferably in property management)
  • CPA designation is required
  • Hands-on Payrollamp; Benefits experience, with expertise in coaching and supervising payroll/benefits staff
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills
  • Proven team management experience
  • Ability to think critically, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Experienceamp; Assets:
  • Prior experience with Yardi or Sage 300
  • Experience with UKG HRISamp; Sage is an asset
  • Experience preparing monthly financial statements
  • Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Strong ability to listen, ask the right questions, and share insights
