Your Opportunity:As a Unit Clerk, you will report to the Manager for LTC & Coalbanks at the Drumheller Health Centre. This position will challenge your ability to balance varying priorities within a team environment. In this rural community you will serve a diverse patient population with a continual focus on the AHS Patient First and Our People strategies. Drumheller is located 135 km from Calgary and 160 km from Red Deer, with a population of 8,029 and is located in the valley of the Alberta Badlands. Drumheller residents benefit from a wide variety of recreational facilities and amenities within the town, such as the Aquaplex for swimming, the Memorial Arena for skating and the Badlands Community Facility for fitness and library resources. The Royal Tyrell Museum is also located in Drumheller, featuring ancient dinosaur artifacts, educational opportunities and much more. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic.Description:As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments.
