Job Description

Position: Teaching PrincipalLocation: Duck Bay SchoolStart Date: September 6, 2022FTE: 1.00 FTETerm of Employment: PermanentApplication Deadline: Open Until FilledThe Division provides a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, transportation and moving expensereimbursement, subsidized housing or housing allowance and isolation allowance in qualifyingcommunities, annual travel reimbursement, reimbursement for approved courses and more!Duck Bay School is located in the community of Duck Bay nestled on the western shore of LakeWinnipegosis, a one-hour drive north of Dauphin. The school and community are proud of their Metisculture and heritage. The school has a student body of approximately 85 Nursery to Grade 9 students (plusAdult Education). The staff includes 6 teachers and 14 support staff.Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree and Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)
  • Master’s Degree in Education/Administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset
  • At least five years of teaching experience
  • Previous administration experience would be an asset
  • Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction
  • Experience working in a northern community
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and
understanding of school-based technology
  • Ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with parents, the community and foster parental involvement
  • Keen ability to identify and creatively solve problems
  • Ability to work in partnership with community agencies
  • Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment
