Head Park Interpreter - PAR003088Employment Type: Labour Service (seasonal)Location(s): SK-Central East-Duck Mountain Provincial ParkMinistry: 027 Parks Culture and SportSalary Range: $20.670 - $25.903 HourlyGrade: SGEU.04.The Ministry of Parks, Culture and Sports mission is to enhance economic growth and support quality of life by managing the provincial parks system and providing recreation, sport, heritage and cultural opportunities for residents and visitors.The Ministry is currently seeking a dynamic and highly-motivated individual who is a flexible team player for the position of Head Park Interpreter for provincial park lands within Duck Mountain Provincial Park. Reporting to the Park Program Coordinator, this position will be a part of the Visitor Experiences team.As Head Park Interpreter, you will require knowledge of Saskatchewans natural and cultural heritage in order to develop and deliver engaging, informative and interactive nature and recreational programs that make visitors aware of our provinces unique biological and cultural diversity. You will coach and coordinate the work of other park interpretive staff by providing guidance, advice, and leadership.Responsibilities include facilitating curriculum-based school programs, cultural interpretation, organizing special events, hosting guest presenters and guiding resource-based recreation activities such as canoeing and camping skills. In order to be successful in this position, you will be required to exhibit sound judgement when interacting with clients and co-workers. In addition, you will be responsible for creating seasonal reports, promotional materials and other documents.The successful candidate will have knowledge of Saskatchewans natural and cultural heritage, outdoor skills, use of social media and basic computer skills.Successful candidates will have experience and the ability to develop and present public programs, work alone with minimal supervision, exhibit sound judgement when dealing with the public, work in all types of weather conditions, travel within the region with overnight stays as required, coordinate and lead school-based educational programs, and safely lead outdoor excursions.
