Health Careers For CENTRAL WESTFamily Transition Placewww.familytransitionplace.caPosition: Counselling SupervisorRegion: Caledon/Bolton, Dufferin CountyDescription: COUNSELLING SUPERVISORFull-Time position, 35 hours a weekUnder the direction of the Director of Counselling, Education and Community Mental Health Initiatives, the Counselling Supervisor will provide support with program planning, clinical supervision, staff management, program promotion and administration for the following Counselling Programs: Crisis/Intake, Sexual Assault, Woman Abuse, Addiction, Rural Response, Parent and Child, Community Homeless Outreach as well as any additional programs that may fall under the Counselling Program.Family Transition Place provides counselling services at offices in Orangeville, Bolton and Shelburne. The successful candidate will be required to work in any of these locations.Responsibilities will include:

  • Ongoing clinical supervision of counsellors working with regulatory body requirements and organizational policy and procedures
  • Debrief, consult and support the team with client situations
  • Ensure staff are submitting accurate, compliant and timely information to inform statistical reporting of service delivery
  • Providing on-call coverage and emergency back-up as required
  • Conduct counselling Caseworks audits as necessary
  • Oversee planning and development of group programming and service delivery
  • Assist with research and preparation of documents relating to Ministries/funders
Qualifications:
  • Masters level counselling-focused degree or equivalent experience.
  • Registered with a counselling / social work college or regulatory organization required or in process of registering.
  • Minimum 3 years’ of supervisory or coordination experience
  • Knowledge of issues of violence against women and children
  • Knowledge of Woman Abuse and Sexual Assault service delivery and services
  • Feminist leadership skills
  • Familiarity with the links between violence, trauma, addictions and mental health issues
  • Ability to incorporate into counselling an anti-oppression framework and short-term therapy models
  • Strong communication, case management and report writing skills
  • Sound clinical decision making skills to help assess risk and implement best practice
  • Works from an ARAO/Intersectionality lens
  • Proof of a valid Ontario Drivers License and automobile insurance
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
  • Second language would be an asset
Hours of Work:
  • 35 hours per week. Some evening and week-end work may be required.
