An exciting and challenging opportunity exists for a regular part time exempt Executive Assistant. Reporting to Executive Coordinator, the Executive Assistant provides professional coordination and executive administrative services for the General Manager (GM) of Strategic Services and the GM of Operations (and their respective Division Managers), coordinates operational workflow and activities for the GMs, and plays a key role in the management and flow of communication and information for the GMs. The work primarily provides confidential support to the GMs in conducting the business operations of their departments and their responsibilities to the Board and the organization. The work is moderately complex, diverse and may be politically sensitive or controversial, therefore, highly confidential in nature, including work related to supporting the GMs with performance management, collective bargaining and freedom of information (FOI) requests.- Secondary school graduation plus completion of a minimum six (6) month certificate in office administration or business administration or legal assistant program from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.- Certificate in Local Government Administration is considered an asset.- Courses in web design/maintenance; computer-assisted graphic design; and social media are considered an asset.- Six (6) years of recent, relevant experience providing professional executive administrative services with demonstrated increasing levels of complexity.- Experience working in local government is preferred.- Experience in graphic design, web/intranet design/maintenance, and social media platforms is considered an asset.- Valid Class 5 Driver #39;s LicenseAn equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.For a complete listing of the job requirements please click here.This regular part time opportunity is guaranteed a minimum of 28 hours per week. However, the position may work up to 35 hours per week as operationally required. Business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Due to the nature of the work, the schedule will be coordinated to meet the operational needs of the departments. Successful candidates must be available to work a flexible variety of shifts, primarily days, but may include evenings and weekends.
