Category Assistant – Who we are and who loves being hereThe Category Assistant will be responsible for working in collaboration with the category manager and procurement team to help administer system updates and strive to support the continued growth of our retail operations. You will need to enjoy working with Excel spreadsheets and analyzing data with the purpose of making item and assortment recommendations. Your ultimate purpose is to help our stores keep our customers happy.The Minor Bros culture is collaborative, innovative, strategic and tactical. Every employee has the choice of digital platform to work on to provide an extra level of comfort.The MB team is a blend of seasoned veterans and energetic people starting their careers.The position is a salaried position with paid vacation and health benefits.Category Assistant – What you must have to be successful· College Diploma or University studies in a Business or related field.· Computer experience using MS Office with advanced knowledge of Excel formulas is a must. Odoo experience an asset.· 1-2 years retail experience preferred.· Knowledge of the agricultural / pet industry an asset.· Be extremely process and calendar driven to align with the seasonal sales changes and review timelines.Category Assistant – What you need to doThe MB Country Living Category Assistant will work directly with our Category Manager, and also very closely with our procurement, operations and merchandizing departments. The category assistant must be: · Store / customer focused.· Strong analytical skills.· Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities.· Constructive team player and have a strong partnership behavior.· Strategic and long-term thinker.· Ability to work independently when needed while making sound business decisions.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:
