Job Description

The grocery manager is responsible for the efficient and fiscal operation of the department. They will lead and manage staff to achieve the highest level of customer service while adhering to all Food Safety protocols, standard operating procedures, Health and Safety standards and all other in store programs and initiatives.The manager is responsible for maintaining the following areas within the department:

  • budgets and expenditures
  • labor costs and scheduling
  • inventory controls
  • meeting financial targets and maximizing sales and margins
  • product presentation and merchandising
  • ordering, receiving, organization and rotation of products
  • coaching, motivating and developing their team of employees
  • providing superior customer service to create a shopping experience that engages the customer to enhance loyalty and sales
Candidate must have the following interpersonal skills:
  • ability to create a coaching and developmental culture for all employees which involves a passion for food
  • demonstrate outstanding leadership while serving as a role model
  • mange direct reports including selection, orientation, training and development, performance management and succession planning
  • have strong communication skills, both verbal and written to present present operation requirements
  • demonstrate exceptional product knowledge including awareness of product changes, promotion and seasonal trends
  • ability to work independently in a fast paced environment
Experience Required:
  • retail store experience particularly in grocery department or grocery store
  • people management skills
  • customer service experience
Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $31,000.00-$44,000.00 per yearBenefits:
