As an accounting co-op student, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assistance with and preparation of personal income tax, T4, WCB and T5 returns
  • Assistance with and preparation of compilation engagements, including preparation of adjusting journal entries, financial statements and corporation income tax returns
  • Assistance with preparation of audit engagements
  • Assistance with and preparation of client bookkeeping
  • Supporting various projects and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
  • 3rd or 4th year Accounting Co-op student
  • Accomplished in multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks to meet multiple deadlines with adaptability to changing priorities
  • Completion of one or more financial accounting courses
  • Ability to make decisions and problem solve independently within the scope of the position
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Completion of taxation courses an asset
  • Experience with any of Caseware, TaxPrep, Doc-it, Sage 50 (Simply Accounting), Quickbooks desktop, QBO, Xero and/or Microsoft Office is an asset
