Job Description

The primary responsibilities of the Finance Coordinator are to provide financial administrative assistance in Accounts Payable and Receivable functions including; recording, analyzing and processing information, verifying accuracy of documents and records, maintaining, and distributing and filing appropriate documentation and records.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process expense claims, enter vendor invoices, match invoices with purchase orders, and check all for accuracy.
  • Weekly accounts payable payment processing via cheque and/or EFT (electronic fund transfer)
  • Act as first line contact with vendors regarding billing problems.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations
  • Invoice clients and answer inquiries.
  • Ensure client accounts are accurate and reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Prepare the Monthly invoice to PDD and ensure the PDD tracker is up to date.
  • Working with our contract specialist at PDD when required.
  • Assist with PDD program budgets
  • Complete Winnifred Stewart Association and Foundation Casino Reports as required by AGLC
  • Complete Winnifred Stewart Association and Foundation Business Licensing and Property Tax Exemptions
  • Ensure Yearly Licensing of Winnifred Stewart Association and Foundation vehicles.
  • Track Association/Foundation contracts, memberships, and licenses.
  • Record receipt of funds from partners and clients
  • Prepare bank deposits and log deposit information in applicable spreadsheets
  • Prepare tax receipts for charitable donations
  • Complete Winnifred Stewart Foundation Monthly Revenue Reconciliation.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Accounting/payroll certificate from a recognized University or College
  • Working knowledge of Sage (ACCPAC) and Payworks
  • Understanding of basic accounting and experience with bank reconciliation is an asset
  • Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office; Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proven ability to multi-task effectively and strong attention to detail
  • Able to work on a team and independently
  • Effective problem solving & organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully at all levels within the organization
  • Committed to quality and support of process improvement
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in an appropriate manner
  • Strong organizational abilities and time management skills

  • Flexibility in meeting other duties as required by the Director of Finance.
