Watch the video below to learn more about STARS as you begin to explore this amazing opportunity within our organization, you have to be great to work here, we can #39;t wait to meet you - https://youtu.be/B8P0N18WWjoPosition: Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Permanent Pool – 1.0 FTEIs this challenge for youReporting to the Production Manager, the Pool Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will provide maintenance support and services for STARS in a 24/7 operational environment. You will be responsible to safely and effectively maintain STARS’ operational fleet of H145 aircraft in accordance with the company Maintenance Policy and Control Manuals and the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARS).*As this is a pool position, you will be required to travel to, and work at, any of STARS’ six bases as needed. The successful candidate must live in one of STARS’ 6 operational cities. Do you have what it takes

  • You will carry out duties in accordance with the STARS’ Maintenance Control and Policy Manuals
  • Maintain awareness of Transport Canada regulations and required compliance of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins
  • Perform all applicable maintenance activities related to STARS’ aircraft
  • Ensure that all components installed on aircraft are properly certified
  • Act as a technical liaison with aircraft, engine and component manufacturers, vendors and overhaul agencies regarding the overhaul, repair, and modification of aircraft systems and/or components, as required
  • Monitor aircraft system performance data and recommend action to correct abnormal trends, to improve aircraft system reliability
  • Implement engineering modifications and retrofits to the fleet in accordance with OEM service bulletins or other Transport Canada approved data
  • Maintain an M1 or M2 AME License
  • Report quality control and safety issues through the company reporting systems
  • Exercise safe practices and use proper Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for working in a hangar environment, including ground support equipment and harmful substances
  • Actively manage personal human factors associated with aircraft maintenance including pressure, fatigue, lack of resources, and lack of knowledge
  • Participate in fundraising and public relations activities as required
  • Contribute as a positive and effective member of the STARS team
Education and Experience
  • Post-secondary Technical Diploma or equivalent required
  • Current Transport Canada M1 or M2 AME License required
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience as an AME
  • Turbine engine experience
  • Knowledge of the CARS
  • Multi-engine medium helicopter experience is an asset
  • Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) and Night Vision avionic system experience are assets
  • The following endorsements are considered an asset:
      • H145 Airframe
      • H145 Helionix
      • Arriel 2E Engine
