Amenity Attendant up to 3 monthsJob Number : 40831Warm weather is on the way, and so is the opportunity to support outdoor recreation and play opportunities for Edmontonians! As an Amenity Attendant, you will use your strong interpersonal and decision-making skills to ensure citizens enjoy the outdoor water facilities at City Hall, Fred Broadstock, Oliver and Queen Elizabeth in a safe manner. You will succeed in this position if you can perform all tasks in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:Greet patrons in a friendly and respectful wayEnsure appropriate behaviour and use of all equipment, such as slides and diving boardsEnsure the safety of all patrons using facility amenitiesEnsure patrons are obeying rules and general facility guidelines, including COVID-19 protocolsAssist lifeguards in crowd control and marking armsAssist lifeguards with opening and closing of the amenitiesControl the movement of patrons in and out of the pavilions/dressing roomsClean touch points as requiredMaintain statistics and administrative tasks including timesheetsAct as a customer service representative on siteAssist staff in emergency response as directedOther related duties as requiredQualifications :Minimum 14 years of age; 15 years and older may be required depending on the facilityExperience working in a swimming pool environment and/or in a customer service role serving the public is an assetExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle difficult situationsAbility to perform the sustained and repetitive tasks related to the role, such as being upright for long periods of time, while outside and in various weather and environmental conditionsAbility to effectively communicate and provide direction to facility users; ability to communicate in a second language is an assetValid Emergency First Aid is required prior to employmentHire is dependent on Police Information Check including Vulnerable Sector check satisfactory to the City of EdmontonDemonstrated ability to achieve results in the context of a respectful, inclusive and service-minded styleEmbrace the Cultural Commitments of Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, and foster an environment that encourages others to do the sameApplicants may be testedThe City of Edmonton's Cultural Commitments highlight where we are going as a corporation and define how we do our best work.
