Job Description

We create a true global community—a place of belonging—right here at NorQuest.Reporting to the Manager, Academic Strategy, the Anti-Racism Advisor will assist in developing and implementing the Reimagine Higher Education plan including creating an academic framework and philosophy, providing advice to revamp the program preview process, creating toolkits & supported pilots, developing or enhancing instructional strategies with an anti-racism lens, and providing professional development for faculty and people leaders.HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Create an Academic framework and philosophy to support anti-racism activities across the College.
  • Provide advice to revamp the Program Review process.
  • Create toolkits and supported pilots which includes reviewing and revising curriculum tools, reviewing and revising program development, and program reviews.
  • Develop or enhance instructional strategies with an anti-racism lens.
  • Provide professional development for faculty and people leaders.
  • Contribute to additional projects as determined by the team.
  • Keep apprised of news updates, current research, emerging and established promising practices and approaches to Anti-Racism, legislative and policy changes to provide the most relevant information and education.
  • Engage and consult with the Anti-Racism working group, EDI Council, and other areas of the College to ensure alignment in anti-racism initiatives throughout the College.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Master’s degree related to the field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in post-secondary or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in anti-racist education, curriculum development, and anti-oppressive pedagogy.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of race and racism, anti-oppression, Anti-Racism, discrimination and impacts on targeted individuals and communities.
  • Experience in building training that integrates anti-racist pedagogy or framework.
  • Experience working on anti-racist initiatives and strategies.
  • Experience working with diverse racialized group and multi-ethnic/cultural environment.

SALARY: $2,791 - $3,624 biweekly ($72,568 - $94,231 annually) reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time term position to September 30, 2023 with immediate access to our great benefits program.We offer flexible work options.
