Arena Attendant/Labourer II casual ongoingJob Number : 41193Are you comfortable working independently in ice arenas, multifacility environments and sports fieldsThe Citizen Services Department is looking for Arena Attendant/Labourer II’s to support year-round operations in 21 busy arenas and 7 field facilities across the City. Use your amazing organizational skills to meet the operational needs of a single, twin, quad or field facility. Your success will be measured by your ability to complete your tasks in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:Build, resurface and remove ice with related equipment and toolsPerform custodial, sanitation and minor maintenance servicesComplete inspections of change rooms prior to and after facility useComplete high quality artificial and natural turf maintenance and managementProvide quality customer service to a wide variety of arena, facility and sports field users by answering questions, providing assistance with concerns and directing customersEnsure all arena and sports field operations procedures are followedMaintain supply inventory to meet daily, weekly and monthly needsPlan, prioritize and organize tasks to meet daily arena or field user group schedulesProvide an ongoing security presence within the recreation and leisure centre facilitiesOther related duties as requiredQualifications :Completion of Grade 12 or higher or equivalent1 year of experience in arena operations or sports facilities with experience in operating applicable equipment; experience and/or training using ice resurfacers, tractors or other related equipment of similar size and complexity is an asset. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be consideredKnowledge of safety precautions and hazards related to assigned workStrong customer service, interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently as well as on a teamAbility to understand verbal and written instructions, and communicate in a professional wayAbility to safely perform light to heavy manual labour for extended periods of time under various weather and environmental conditionsDemonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and multitaskCompetent computer skills, including knowledge of Google Applications (Docs, Sheets and Sites)Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement for this positionValid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C is required at the time of hireValid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent).
