Our goal, as One Team, is to deliver a frictionless OMNI experience where stores anchor the customer journey with surprising discoveries, desired services, and localized assortment.Position Description:The Asset Protection Supervisor provides leadership support to the Asset Protection Manager, District Asset Protection Manager, Asset Protection Investigators, Store Leadership and Associates. The Asset Protection Supervisor must be able to temporarily assume total responsibility for all Asset Protection functions in the absence of the APM.This position plays a critical role in the daily oversight of Asset Protection operations and personnel in their assigned stores. The Supervisor sets a high ethical tone and reinforces the core values of the organization through ongoing collaboration and communication with the Store Leadership, Associates and the Asset Protection Division. He/she must be capable of ensuring overall store compliance to company policies, local, state and federal laws and effective execution of internal and external theft investigations. He/she must be able to assess risk exposures and provide leadership and communication at all times. The Asset Protection Supervisor must develop effective relationships with all internal and external business partners.Drive Selling:

  • Facilitate selling process through consistent adherence to policies and procedures that safeguard customers, associates and assets of the company
  • Assists with store-wide communication, training, new hire orientation, safety and shortage meetings
  • Participates in Store Leadership meetings where appropriate
  • Oversees API floor ownership program execution
Drive Service:Consistently role model and execute the SFA Customer ExperienceDrive Management of Controllable Profit & Expenses:
  • Local Shortage Strategy – implementation and execution
  • Provides feedback and recommendations in the development of the respective store shortage strategy
  • Assumes a leadership role supporting the APM in the planning and execution of the annual physical inventory and reconciliation process
  • Ensures all physical security standards are maintained and adjustments are initiated timely
Drive Asset Protection Excellence:
  • Provides daily supervision and guidance to all investigators ensuring adherence to Saks Fifth Avenue apprehension and investigative guidelines, and any applicable local, state and federal laws
  • Assists the APM with training, coaching and developing staff investigators with required technical skills needed to be successful in their role
  • Assists the APM in ensuring all members of the Asset Protection staff successfully complete required online training and other curriculum necessary for certifications
  • Provides feedback to the APM for the mid-year and annual performance reviews for all API’s
  • Prepares weekly audit schedule for AP staff, delegate’s assignments and ensures audit requirements are being met and properly documented
  • Performs AP operational audits and internal self-audits in sensitive areas when necessary or required.
  • Provides audit summaries for the APM for discussion with Store Leadership weekly
  • Manages APIS case report submission from investigators for content, timeliness and accuracy to ensure investigative efficiency while providing guidance as needed
  • Provides assistance with camera installations and follow-up review.
  • Consistently identifies and addresses internal and external theft exposures to achieve targets of investigative performance
  • Consults with the APM to prepare investigations for the interview phase

  • High School Degree or Equivalency. Wicklander~Zulawski Interview Certification
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability and comfort level to interact with store management and speak in front of the store population
  • Analytical skills necessary to problem solve and achieve win/win outcomes
  • Must have strong aptitude and working knowledge for retail security and information systems and productivity software
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage a diverse team to achieve financial and statistical goals, people development skills and team building
  • Drive team for overall results
Experience:
  • 2+ years of retail Asset Protection experience with a successful track record of producing positive statistical and shortage results

  • Transfer to a larger volume or flagship location
  • Asset Protection Manager

  • Frequently required to moving about in office environment and to travel to other offices and physical plant locations
  • The person in this position needs to frequently walk throughout the store, move about inside the office and attend meetings
  • Must be able to maneuver in a normal office environment and stoop or kneel and other physical exertion required in a normal office environment
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 50%-70% of time. Sitting for long periods of time in front of a computer, conducting surveillance and walking throughout the store is common and frequent
  • Must be willing and capable of physically affecting an apprehension and physically detaining a theft offender
  • Must to able to readily travel within city and/or region on short notice
