Job Description

BURNCO is currently looking to hire an experienced Assistant Plant Foreman within the Edmonton region for the production operations of our Northern Alberta Aggregate Division. This is a full-time position where the successful applicant will work out of one of our gravel pit locations outside the city limits, ensuring the safe, efficient operation of the production plants.   • Promoting BURNCO’s safety program, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Managing the operation and maintenance of production plants
  • Overseeing the operation and maintenance of loaders, rock trucks and excavators
  • Managing plant production and utilization
  • Supervising production staff
  • Ensuring quality of all products
  • Supervising and motivating staff to obtain high levels of production
  • Asset utilization and all associated paperwork
  • Entering information and daily interactions within our Oracle system as well with MS Excel spreadsheets
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
Reality of the Job
  • A typical work week is 5 to 6 days per week (especially during the peak season that runs from May through October)
  • Long days are the norm during the peak season, up to 12 hours per day
  • Out of town work will be required on occasion and at times you may be required to be away from home at a project site, where LOA (Living Out Allowance) will be provided
RequirementsWhat We Would Like From You
  • 5+ years of aggregate production or aggregate washing experience
  • Class 5 Drivers License and clean Drivers abstract
  • A technical trade certification will be an asset
  • High School Diploma
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify, analyze and solve problems
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Very good computer skills required as a large part of the job requires daily interactions with Oracle and excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of the aggregate industry
