We work with great people and expect a lot from them.Job Summary:We are looking for a skilled and versatile Building Maintenance Technician/Handyman to join our team. This position requires expertise across various building maintenance functions, including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC systems, with a focus on maintaining and improving our facilities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on professional capable of troubleshooting issues, performing repairs, and collaborating effectively. KnowledgeKey Job Requirements:Electrical: Conduct basic electrical maintenance and repairs, focusing on 110V systems, including wiring, lighting, outlets, and fixtures. Carpentry: Handle carpentry tasks such as framing, drywall repair, door and window installations, and general woodwork. Plumbing: Address basic plumbing issues, including fixture installation, pipe repairs, leak identification, and general plumbing maintenance. HVAC Systems: Perform basic maintenance and repairs of HVAC systems, ensuring optimal operation and indoor climate control. Welding (Optional/Asset): Perform basic welding tasks for repair and fabrication as needed. General Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance and facility inspections, both indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety and functionality. Tools and Equipment: Operate power tools safely and effectively. Proficiency with forklifts or scissor lifts is an asset. Computer Usage: Utilize computer systems for record-keeping, work orders, and other job-related tasks. Fenestration (Optional/Asset): Experience with the fenestration industry (windows, doors, and associated systems) is considered an asset. Collaboration and Flexibility: Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors as needed and provide on-call support when necessary.Technical Skills:Basic knowledge and experience with 110V electrical systems. Basic carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC system knowledge and experience. Basic welding skills and experience (an asset). Experience with power tools and other maintenance-related equipment. Forklift or scissor lift experience/certification is considered an asset. Familiarity with fenestration industry practices is a plus. Computer Skills: Ability to use computers for maintenance documentation, inventory, and related tasks.Licenseamp; Certifications:Valid driver’s license. Forklift or scissor lift certification (preferred). Experience: 3-7 years of relevant maintenance experience. Availability: Must be available for weekday shifts (Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and weekend work as needed, with the ability to be on-call when necessary.
