For more information on the work Alberta Health does, visit this link:RoleThe Systems Business Analyst is accountable for the successful delivery of the Pharmaceutical Information Network (PIN) Service. PIN is Alberta’s Drug Information System, hosted on a computing environment that is stable, reliable and maintains a high level of availability. PIN receives medication information – both prescription and dispense information - from primary care clinics and community and outpatient pharmacies. PIN then makes this information available to clinicians and Alberta citizens through a number of channels, such as Alberta Netcare Portal, MyHealth Records, and directly to clinical applications using Health Level 7 messaging between it and the clinical application. Medication information is also provided to other ministry stakeholders (internal and external) through various sharing channels and warehouse environments.One of the primary roles of this position is to provide a set of specialized skills, both with information technology (IT) and business skill sets, to analyze, design, test and implement solutions for the PIN suite of applications and services, and those related information systems that are associated with PIN (e.g. Provincial Registries).This position also plays a key role in the coordination and enforcement of operational processes and functions (Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Service Request management) across the Ministry and with Healths extended stakeholders and vendors. It requires knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems, the techniques used in the design of non-automated systems, information technology equipment, applicable programming languages, computer hardware and software, computer operating systems, writing program code, and automated mapping.Responsibilities:
