They tend to see a problem as an opportunity and can easily succeed as a Business System Analyst.A Business Systems Analyst III in the Operations team is deeply involved with providing comprehensive application support for AIMCo’s managed and in-house built applications, surrounding various business processes including trade processes, settlement, accounting and payments. Your work will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely valuation of AIMCo’s $118 B investment portfolio.ResponsibilitiesProviding second level support to numerous queries or incidents by performing root-cause analysis and providing solutions that first level support members have escalatedMaintaining data and/or reporting interfaces for investment support applications (Data marts)Finding, recommending, and implementing efficiencies in day-to-day operations that includes coordinating with BT Delivery teams for complex issuesConducting applications enhancements and support activities pertaining to investment support areas as assigned, including analysis, design, programming, testing, and implementation of new and existing custom-developed uploaders and exportersEnsuring that application problems and system failures are addressed and responded to in a timely mannerDiagnosing, investigating and resolving issues that arise in applications the team supports and assisting other IT staff as neededCoordinating with other areas to install, document, and test application functionalityEstimating and reporting progress on assigned tasks and recommending improvements and efficiencies to processes and applicationsIdentifying and communicating potential risks and possible solutions to ad hoc and ongoing projectsEmbracing accountability, enhanced decision making and integrity to deliver on our cultural commitment of Doing Business the Right WayIdeal Candidate QualificationsDiploma or degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalentIdeally brings 3+ years of experience in working with relational database and the ability to bring structure and discipline in developing/programming using SQL serverPossesses a minimum of 3 years experience writing and maintaining data/system integrations between applications using, SQL and .NetExposure to the investment industry and knowledge of various financial instrument life cycle events is considered an assetKnowledge of ITIL, DevOps and Agile methodologies would be beneficialFamiliarity with SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg, Charles River, Calypso, Eagle, Murex and integration platforms is an assetThrives under pressure and takes a proactive approach to problem solvingAdept at managing multiple, concurrent deadlines and shifting prioritiesPassion for continuous learning and excellent team playerExcellent Analytical and Problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates a strong commitment to AIMCo’s core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration, and inspires the same in othersFlexibility in providing on-call, after hours and overnight escalation calls is requiredSuccess Measures12-month success will be achieved by having a strong understanding of AIMCo’s investment workflows, lifecycle events and processes maintaining support including developing and enhancing loaders and streams in the Eagle Suites (Pace, Pricing Center, SRM, Message Center etc.).Benefits and RewardsExciting special project work and stretch assignmentsOngoing training, coaching and educational reimbursement programsHealth care spending account and onsite fitness facilitiesAbout AIMCoAIMCo is one of Canada’s largest and most diversified investment managers, with over $118 billion of assets under management for 32 clients, a diverse group of Alberta public sector pension plans, endowment funds, and government accounts representing all Albertans.We are guided by the core values of excellence, transparency, humility, integrity and collaboration.AIMCo is mindful and responsive to actively evaluating, assessing and optimizing risk to achieve superior performance for Albertans.
