King’s currently servesover 900 students of all ages from a variety of backgrounds from across Canada and abroad, representing awide variety of nations.Campus MinisterPaternity Leave, Part-time .75FTEPOSITION SUMMARYThe Campus Minister is a member of the Student Life Department with a primary responsibility forleadership in the planning, development, and implementation of educationally meaningful opportunitiesthat promote spiritual formation in alignment with The King’s mission. The Campus Minister will serve theKing’s community with particular emphasis on students by providing pastoral care and spiritual direction,cultivating robust corporate worship, developing student leaders, encouraging participation in spiritualdisciplines, and by encouraging community life and belonging that fosters a healthy spiritual institutionalclimate.This is a 9-month paternity leave position with potential evening and weekend hours.KEY RESONSIBILITIES

  • Provide spiritual mentoring, care, and direction to students, faculty, and staff as required
  • Recruit, train, and mentor student leaders hired through the Student Leadership program
  • Provide leadership in the planning and implementation of a visionary, relevant, and integrated
chapel program for the entire campus, celebrating the diverse Christian backgrounds within thecommunity.
  • Develop and assess student learning and program outcomes
  • Provide opportunities for participation in spiritual disciplines such as prayer, retreats, reflection,
small groups, and service.
  • Oversee all aspects of campus worship including direct oversight of Worship Leader
  • Responsible for coordinating, supporting, and working with volunteer ministry leaders, including
spiritual directors, life coach, and chaplains
  • Participate in institutional public events as required
  • Serve as a member of the Student Life Leadership Team
  • Serve on institutional committees as required
  • Maintain and plan a yearly budget
  • Collaborate with other departments across the institution in various programs and initiatives
  • Positively represent the university to alumni, parents, students, neighbors, community, and
colleagues.
  • As may be requested, represent The King’s University through sermons and other speaking
engagements at churches and other organizations.QUALIFICATIONSMaster’s degree in related field with extensive ministry experience with young adults. Minimum of 5 years ofleadership in pastoral or campus-based ministry with prior experience in higher education preferred.Other Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes

  • Genuine concern for others and their holistic development.
