With a combined 50+ years of management experience, CarePros has successfully grown its capacity and service offerings to provide 400,000+ hours of care across 300+ families over the last several years.The OpportunityWe are currently looking to hire Casual Child and Youth Care Works in Morinville, AB.This position will be casual and should have availability for a mix of weekdays, evenings, and weekend hours.Who You AreAs a Child and Youth Care Worker, you possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of child and youth care mental wellness practices and the processes and procedures involved in providing effective home care.
  • Experience working with individuals with Mental Health is required.
  • A post-secondary education specializing in Child and Youth Care or a related field. Related fields include a diploma, degree, or certificate in Social Work, Psychology, community addictions or mental health.
  • Knowledge of CPR and First Aid techniques is needed to assess and treat injuries.
  • Knowledge of Harm Reduction Model, Holistic Approach to Promote Stability, and Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Recognize and understand emotions and handle situations with empathy.
  • Build and maintain cooperative and constructive relationships.
  • 2+ years of experience working with children with complex behavioural needs.
Other qualifications include:Training related to the following are considered an important asset:
      • Suicide Prevention
      • Trauma-Informed Care
      • Mental Health First Aid
  • You are certified in First Aid and certified as a CPR Level C.
  • You have a valid and current Class 5 Drivers License, proper vehicle insurance coverage and a clear Drivers Abstract.
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check (Advanced Police Check)
  • A clear Children Intervention Record Check
  • You have the physical wellness and mental health awareness to handle daily exercise routine and other requirements as prescribed by the care plan and a high capacity for managing stressful situations
