Job Description

Business Unit: Apps Cargo TerminalsPosition: City Dispatch, Day-time ShiftLocation: Edmonton, ABApps Cargo Terminals is committed to providing flexible industry-leading transportation and supply-chain solution in a manner which is consistent with customer expectations & our “core values” of integrity, respect & continuous improvement. Our motto is “we promise performance, we deliver service” and our team is an integral part of this.As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a City Dispatcher who will be responsible for pre-planning loads, and dispatching. This role reports to the Operations Manager. The incumbent takes charge of the entire pre-planning/updating/completing trips process to ensure all shipments meet pick-up and delivery times and are completed according to appointments and expectations.Responsibilities:

  • Pre-planning routes in an efficient manner
  • Planning and dispatching drivers for pickups in an efficient manner
  • Dispatching & updating our in-house system
  • Maintains process management, and paperwork
  • Communicating with carriers and customers
  • Filing dispatch paperwork
  • Answering telephone
  • Change-over with PM Dispatch
  • Ability to meet KPI consistently
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications & Key Competencies:
  • Grade 12 graduate
  • Knowledge of city
  • Proficient knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel an asset
  • Experience in a Dispatch role an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Good analytical and mathematical skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to meet urgent deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
Hours and Location:
  • Monday to Friday: Day-time
  • Terminal Location: Edmonton, AB (West End)
Remuneration:$60,000 - $70,000 per year based on experienceBenefits:
