Civil Earthworks ManagerG&J Construction Group LP is an Edmonton based, 57 year old construction company. We perform paving, earthwork, concrete, street sweeping, landscaping, and snow removal for commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential clients. G&J’s focus is on servicing the needs of our customers and getting the job done right the first time. G&J is looking for a self motivated individual to help market, estimate, and manage civil grading projects.OverviewReporting to the General Manager, your objective is to build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers, estimate projects, and manage construction of those projects.ResponsibilitiesSafety:· Ensure that safety remains a top priority. You will do this by ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are adhered to by staff, subcontractors, and customers.· Perform job hazard assessments for each project you manage.· Take part in monthly office meetings to discuss safety concerns and initiatives, near misses, incidents, and corrective actions.· Apply for and acquire permits where required (ex. Alberta One Call, etc.)Marketing· Build relationships with new and potential clients· Maintain relationships with existing clients (phone calls, face to face meetings, lunches, etc.)Quality Assurance· Ensure that project requirements are clearly communicated to superintendents and foremen.· Maintain open communications with customers to ensure customer satisfaction with workmanship and timeliness.Sales· Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers· Develop sales contracts, ensure invoicing is completed, and collect receivablesExperience and Skillset· 3-5 years experience in base and paving estimating· Have a technical understanding of aggregate materials and construction design standards· Good analytical and problem solving skills· Self-motivated and task oriented· Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Work Environment· Most of your time will be spent driving to construction sites and meeting with clients with some time spent in the main office.· Will spend some time on job sites with dust, noise, large moving construction equipment, and inclement weather· Work hours are typically from 7-5 M-F but may require after hours and weekend work on occasion.What We Offer· Competitive base salary· Health and dental benefits program· RRSP with matching company contributions program· Company vehicle and fuelJob Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per yearAdditional pay:
