In our center, kids (Ninjas) ages 5-14 learn to code in a fun, non-intimidating way — by playing and building video games they love. Kids have a blast and cant wait to come back. Our Vision is a world where kids write the code.Who are we looking forWe are looking for a HIGH ENERGY Code Sensei to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward-thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. Our senseis are the lifeblood of our Code Ninjas center. This individual oversees the day-to-day coaching and student engagement. Perfect for post secondary students who is looking for a FUN, meaningful and impactful part time working experience.Responsibilities include: · Training—go through the curriculum and learn it.· Make sure the children have FUN while learning· Create a FUN, positive and safe environment in which the children can learn and grow.· Work with children to determine skill sets.· Assist in developing/designing curriculum· Provide feedbacks after working with a child who is on a tour.· Follow opening/closing duties daily.· Clean dojo (classroom) throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards.· Report kids’ progress regularly.· Report day’s activities and productivity in the dojo daily.Qualifications:· Working history with children ages 5 and up (mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.).· Experience in engaging with the general public.· Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care.· Post Secondary students pursing an education or technical degree is encouraged to apply.· Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Education, Child Development or Technical field is not required but is a plus.· A provincial teaching certificate is not required but is a plus.· Works well with others; collaborates; engaging and proactive.· Roblox, Minecraft, Lego or 3D printing experience is a PLUS!· Knowledgeable about coding and technology; or able to quickly pick up basic concepts.· Must be fun to work with and like working in fast-paced environments where requirements can change frequentlyCompensation: $15/hr plus an opportunity to have a positive impact on many kids’ livesHours & Location: Student hours are centered around early afternoons/evenings on Tuesdays to Fridays and late morning to early afternoon on Saturdays.
