Collections Assessment and User Analysis Librarian, and Digital Inclusion Research Librarian - Branch Services These are temporary positions ending on May 13, 2023.Job Number : 44051The Edmonton Public Library (EPL) is looking for two highly motivated Librarians to join our team. This temporary opportunity is a chance to show that you have the right stuff to contribute to a dynamic organization. We are looking for a Librarian who are passionate about improving library services and reducing barriers.Under the direction of the Director, Branch Services and Collections, the Collections Assessment and User Analysis Intern Librarian will employ research and assessment methods to conduct an in-depth analysis of EPL’s physical and digital collections and shifting user trends. The Intern will compare and analyze EPL’s physical and digital collections; assess usage patterns throughout the City of Edmonton and identify underserved populations or communities. A key deliverable of the internship will be to undertake an investigation into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and assess the degree to which customer usage patterns shifted throughout the pandemic period.Under the direction of the Director, Branch Services and Community Engagement, this position will develop a report on digital inclusion trends, including researching industry best practices and standards and providing recommendations for the Edmonton Public Library to consider implementing 2023. The Digital Inclusion Research Librarian will research digital inclusion barriers experienced by EPLs customers, explore innovative services and trends at large urban library systems as well as other customer service sectors with an eye to defining best practices in addressing digital exclusion. The Librarians report(s) may include recommending novel opportunities or identifying gaps in technology (hardware and software), service design, and identifying skills or competencies that are required by staff to support customers facing digital exclusion. The work may include observational activities, surveying and piloting solutions.Qualifications :
