Weve launched and supported emerging brands, platforms and entrepreneurs, gathering thousands of people, using interactivity, experience, design and physical space to engage and inspire.About the opportunityMakespace is developing and operating a new innovation campus in partnership with Leduc County, scheduled to open in 2022/23. The campus will feature spaces for small to medium sized businesses in industries such as food, manufacturing and logistics, providing unique amenities from commercial kitchens to fitness facilities and shared storage. The campus will serve the local community of Leduc/Nisku, engaging entrepreneurs located in South Edmonton neighborhoods.As a Community Manager, you’ll be a primary point of contact for the member community of creators and entrepreneurs that will be based at this new innovation campus. You’ll take direction from our Community Operations and Programming leads, organizing and hosting local meetups, events and workshops on-site and across the community.This is a full-time or part-time hourly position with in-person and WFH flexibility aligned to business hours.What you’ll doFront Desk Management

  • Build a welcoming and collaborative community environment amongst campus members
  • Cover the front desk during the campus’ set business hours and be an on-site point of contact
  • Greet members and guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor
  • Ensure all visiting guests are in accordance with the established guest/user policy
  • Anticipate member and guest needs before they arise to enhance and personalize experience
  • Ensure building specific forms are up to date
  • Keep the front desk clean and organized
  • Notify members of any food deliveries and courier
Events & Membership Engagement
  • Drive growth and promotion of our service offerings to members
  • Engage and onboard members through our community and membership platforms
  • Create a collaborative community environment by organizing and hosting events and meetups, hosted online, in-person or hybrid
  • Coordinate and evaluate events with the Community Team, aligning programming to member interests, needs and satisfaction
  • Identify and execute opportunities to connect members with each other
  • Know and explain policies and procedures to update members on building related issues
  • Write and send broadcasts related to building updates
  • Assist with market research, community engagement and analysis
Building Operations & Management
  • Receive, process, sort and organize all mail
  • Track, audit and organize keys collected and distributed
  • Manage keycard stock and request new inventory as needed
  • Collect keys and keycards upon move-out
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, and project meetings as needed
  • Assist our Director, Community Operations with daily, weekly and monthly progress reporting on community growth and engagement metrics
What we’re looking for
  • Ideally located in/near Leduc County or South Edmonton neighborhoods
  • Customer service, community management and/or sales experience preferred
  • Business operations and/or project management experience a plus
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
  • Passion and understanding for entrepreneurial and innovation communities
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Flexibility in the workplace
  • Goal-orientated and deadline-driven
Terms & compensationContract engagement based on 30-40 hours per week at a rate of $24-$28 hour. Subcontractors will be expected to track and report hours, submitted along with an invoice on a monthly basis.Job Types: Full-time, Part-timeSalary: $24.00-$28.00 per hourSchedule:
