If you have a passion for excellence, and would like to work for Corus Entertainment, we encourage you to apply.Community Reporter (Edm) - News GathrngResponsibilities:Daily reporting of Community Events and journalism related to commercial partners as approved by the News departmentCreate relationships with Community organizationsGenerate original and relative Community focused story ideasAssist Sales with content brainstorming and executionWrite, produce and post content with multiple deadlines on a daily basis for television, radio and onlineUtilize new technology and social media on a daily basis to provide video, stills and streaming video for online, social media and broadcastOccasional live reportingRepresent Global Edmonton at public functionsAvailable to work weekdays, evenings and weekendsPerform other duties as assignedAbout YouWhat We Need From You:The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:Diploma/Degree in Journalism/Broadcasting or equivalent experienceExperienced journalist capable of reporting and Community EventsMinimum two years prior reporting/anchoring experience is requiredStrong writing and storytelling skillsDemonstrate strong news judgment in line with station objectivesAbility to go live from the field with strong presentation skills and clarityStrong problem solving skillsAbility to adjust to changing priorities and objectivesAbility to work independentlyMust demonstrate accountability and teamworkMust work well under pressure, possess a desire to be the best, have a positive can-do attitudeBe able to meet strict deadlines, and work co-operatively with others in a teamwork settingPossess a valid driver’s license and clear driving recordWorking knowledge of new media tools and technologies (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc..) and related applicationsWillingness to adapt to rapidly changing technology and workflows as well as show a willingness to learn new online skills in a multi-faceted digital news operationPreference will be given to candidates with proven shooting and editing experience.Why CorusCorus is a driving force in the media industry with a diverse portfolio of strong brands that entertain and inform audiences through great storytelling and compelling content, reaching millions of people around the world every day.We have a passionate drive to connect with the world around us: to express, to share, to be part of people's lives.
