Job Description

OpportunityThe Compliance Department is responsible for promoting an ethical culture and providing independent and unbiased oversight of the management of AIMCo’s compliance with laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies relevant to its investment activities. These activities play a critical role in maintaining our reputation and ensuring AIMCo does business the right way.As the Compliance Officer, you will lend your experience in compliance to the Compliance Ethics area of AIMCo. You will participate in delivering organizational-wide compliance training on AIMCo’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards, translating policies to everyday examples and situations. As the subject matter expert, you will also be responsible for guiding internal stakeholders and staff members. Every day, the work you do will continue to serve our 32 clients today and tomorrow.Responsibilities

  • Delivering organization wide training on AIMCo’s Code and related policies
  • Monitor employee compliance with the Code of Conduct and Personal Trading Policy
  • Ensure accuracy of initial data entry for all statements and confirm that direct feeds data are received from brokers into compliance application
  • Providing support and direction to employees regarding ethics matters and policy requirements
  • Collaborating with, and provide guidance to, other departments in relation to ethics matters
  • Maintaining or overseeing the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for each function
  • Preparing and update reports and other required reporting for senior compliance management
  • Investigate and resolve or report possible breaches of ethics policies
  • Establishing and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Assessing current processes and risks and recommending appropriate enhancements to adapt to changing business requirements
  • Developing process documents and guidelines to continue to elevate the Ethics program.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Mathematics or another related field supplemented by designations such as CPA, CFA, CAIA and CFE
  • 2 -3 years’ experience in a Risk or Compliance function
  • 2 -3 years building and executing a Fraud Risk Program
  • Superior understanding of financial markets, institutional asset management, investment regulations and best practices relating to internal controls and procedures
  • The ability to influence peers, be comfortable speaking up and providing counterbalance, while simultaneously maintaining collaborative relationships
  • The ability to multi-task and exhibit high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written ability
