Job Description

If you are a talented and experienced Controller, Aplin has the right opportunity for you! Drea Larson, Senior Consultant at Aplin has partnered with our client to recruit for the permanent position of Controller, located in Edmonton, Alberta.Reporting to the President, the Controller is responsible for a variety of functions that guide the accounting & finance area of the organization. This position is located in Nisku, and requires that you work 100% on site.Responsibilities:

  • Manage and mentor the finance team (A/P and A/R)
  • Prepare year end package for external auditors
  • Manage company cash flow
  • Review and approve master service agreements prior to assignment
  • Prepare budget and provide analysis of plan vs actuals
  • Fixed asset reconciliations
  • Verify inventory accuracy on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and review all financial statements
Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education with a focus on accounting
  • Experience with cost accounting, fixed asset reconciliations, WIP and deferred revenue adjustments
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
