King’s currently servesover 900 students of all ages from a variety of backgrounds from across Canada and abroad, representing awide variety of nations.Coordinator of International Recruitment and AdvisingPermanent, Full-timePOSITION SUMMARYThe Coordinator of International Recruitment and Advising recruits prospective international andinternationally educated students who are committed to the mandate of the University and would benefitfrom a Christian university education. The coordinator informs, encourages, and advises prospectiveinternational students. The coordinator also works with government bodies, other institutions, otherdepartments, and agencies to support the ongoing recruitment and advising of students.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in the recruitment, admission, registration, and enrolment of international students.
o Establish and maintain personal direct contact with prospective international studentsfrom initial contact through to the point of enrolment.o Maintain prospective international student records in the SIS database.o Provide application, admission, and course selection assistance to incoming internationalstudents.
  • Build relationships with key influencers in the local international community
  • Work with organizations world-wide to establish King’s as a viable destination for international
students
  • Develop and implement all procedures related to agents who work on behalf of King’s for
recruitment purposes, includingo Selection of agents to represent King’so Hire, train, and update agency staffo Participate in joint recruiting activitieso Provide ongoing support to agency staffo Review of agencies to measure their effectiveness and fit for King’so Review and process forms for commission payments to agents
  • Keep country-specific admission policies current through ongoing research
  • Remain up to date on all areas that affect international students including but not limited to:
government regulations, cultural sensitivities, cultural awarenesso Maintain and develop content on international student’s web page
  • Liaise with all departments that work closely with international students, educating individuals as
required
  • Advise King’s international students on immigration issues related to their student status
  • Conduct information sessions for prospective and current students on issues relating to their
immigration status as international students in Canada
  • Represent The King’s University on relevant external committees and with government agencies
responsible for the international student portfolio
  • Travel may be required, either within Canada or internationally
  • Support the overall work of the Admissions Department
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor or Regulated Canadian Immigration
Consultant designation, or willingness to achieve either
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Cross cultural experience is an asset
  • Previous experience in international recruitment an asset
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and crisis management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • May be required to lift or move items up to 22.7 kilos
  • Commitment to Christian post-secondary education, including an understanding of King’s mission,
ethos and culture
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
